Bye Binky!

This morning Blue said goodbye to the binky! Wish us luck for tonight!

Here she is telling the elf on the shelf that she is going to throw her binky in the garbage...

Growing up!

She is growing up so fast! Today after she was done eating lunch she said "nap please!" She loves to help in the kitchen- this is her dumping almonds out and then putting them back in the measuring cup one by one- the whole time saying "make a mess!" and "clean up, clean up."

My big girl is so stinkin cute!

Please try to tune me out in the video below and just focus on the big girl she is becoming! No, I am not trying out for American Idol anytime soon... Luckily Blue does get to hear some decent singing from her dad!

All from listening to toddler music in the car. It makes me want to wear ear plugs, but if it gets us from point A to point B with a happy little girl I guess it is worth it... plus it looks like she is learning something!

Halloween

Halloween was a ton of fun this year seeing as how Blue understood the basic concept of getting candy and was therefore very excited!

We carved pumpkins one night as a family. She was not a big fan. I posted a video so you can see what I mean. We kept telling her that the pumpkin was nice and he said "Hello Blueberry!" So now if you ask her what anything says (a turkey, Santa, etc) she responds, "Hello Blueberry!"

(I only asked her to say trampoline because I love the way she says it-
I know, totally random.)

She was a cute little pink butterfly for Halloween. Fancy Nancy has a Bonjour Butterfly book we got from the library that really warmed Blue up to the idea :)

She LOVED the candy!

We went over to Mark's bro's house on Saturday and then my bro's house on Sunday. It was terrific and Blue loved seeing her cousins so much!

Helping to put away the Halloween decorations. She still mentions the spiders and kitty. I guess turkeys and pilgrims are just not as cool?

Chicken nuggets

Just had to share- I just laid Blue down for her nap and sat down to the computer to work and I hear "chicken nuggets, chicken nuggit, chicken nuggot". Yes, that is what she had for lunch- I think she is practicing saying it! She used to just call them nunnets, but since she has mastered the word chicken she must be working on getting the Grrr sound into nuggets! The other night I was getting into bed and heard Santa several times clear as day from her. The best part? She was sound asleep. I promise. I had just checked 30 seconds before I heard "Santa" coming from her room!

HGTV meets Fancy Nancy

This is my room before I made it fancy:

I love being fancy.

Okay, so if you don't get the reference those are the first 2 lines in the original Fancy Nancy book. Blue LOVES Fancy Nancy- I think I have a couple of the books memorized and some of the vocabulary words from the books pop into my mind at the strangest times!

While we were in North Carolina visiting my parents we watched a little HGTV. We actually got rather addicted and I thought Mark was going to want cable when we got home just for that one channel! After we found out we were having another girl and they were going to share a room the HGTV and Fancy Nancy overload blended into the current girls' room:

I haven't been able to bring myself to put holes in the freshly painted walls yet, but I still love how it turned out. And the best thing? Blueberry loves her "Fancy Nancy" room too!

Some snippets

I can't believe my baby is already 18 months old!
  • She has been going to nursery for a couple of weeks and I am told that she is doing great in there. It is so nice to actually get to listen in Sunday School. Although her loud "Amen!" is always welcome!
  • She still loves music and is trying to sing along sometimes now. She came out of church saying head, shoulders, knees... I wonder what they sang?
  • She is definitely developing her own opinions- AKA tantrums.
  • She is still talking up a storm and it is so fun that she is putting words and thoughts together. Sometimes I feel that I can actually see those wheels turning! I also love that she is tackling those 'hard' words! I love to hear her say trampoline!
  • She has entered the independent stage. All I have to do is threaten to do something for her and she really hops to! I constantly hear her say "self!" if I am getting in her way.
  • I thought kids were a little older when they stopped calling us mom and dad?? I have heard her yelling for Ash! and Mark! on more than one occasion...
  • I wanted to capture some video of her saying/doing some typical things for this stage, but it sure is hard to get her to perform on demand. I had to settle for splicing together some little snippets of what we had...

Request granted

Here you go:

Baby sister at 26 weeks.

Now that certain person (you know who you are) can stop asking me. Too bad I forgot what I was holding a belly shot picture hostage for. If you remember, just give it to me :)

And just because I was curious:

Blueberry at 25 weeks

Maybe I won't gain 50 pounds this time? With the holidays coming? Yeah, right.
