- She has been going to nursery for a couple of weeks and I am told that she is doing great in there. It is so nice to actually get to listen in Sunday School. Although her loud "Amen!" is always welcome!
- She still loves music and is trying to sing along sometimes now. She came out of church saying head, shoulders, knees... I wonder what they sang?
- She is definitely developing her own opinions- AKA tantrums.
- She is still talking up a storm and it is so fun that she is putting words and thoughts together. Sometimes I feel that I can actually see those wheels turning! I also love that she is tackling those 'hard' words! I love to hear her say trampoline!
- She has entered the independent stage. All I have to do is threaten to do something for her and she really hops to! I constantly hear her say "self!" if I am getting in her way.
- I thought kids were a little older when they stopped calling us mom and dad?? I have heard her yelling for Ash! and Mark! on more than one occasion...
- I wanted to capture some video of her saying/doing some typical things for this stage, but it sure is hard to get her to perform on demand. I had to settle for splicing together some little snippets of what we had...

Request granted
Here you go:

Baby sister at 26 weeks.
Now that certain person (you know who you are) can stop asking me. Too bad I forgot what I was holding a belly shot picture hostage for. If you remember, just give it to me :)
And just because I was curious:

Blueberry at 25 weeks
Maybe I won't gain 50 pounds this time? With the holidays coming? Yeah, right.

Family Photo
Cheese face
Blue looked so cute the other day for church I had to take some pics- She even kept the headband on for more than 5 minutes! She likes to look at herself in the mirror now and I think she likes being told how pretty she is... But then I guess, who doesn't?

But I had to share that in order to get a couple cute pictures, I have to weed through a whole lot of
Dead face:

Super Cheese:

Extra scrumptious super cheese:

And some I don't know what she is doing:

How did people get any decent photos before digital?

Talking, talking, and more talking...
Little Blue is my chatterbox/parrot/constant commentator to life. I think I am willing to put up with the power struggles and 2 year old temper tantrums if she is going to continue to provide so many laughs as her language and speech continues to develop. I know that parents, especially mothers, are impeccable translators while strangers are just staring with a blank look, but this is the first time I have had the chance to share the talent of toddler translation firsthand. I have been so impressed at the difficult words she tries to pronounce and the amazing way she can communicate even with a limited vocabulary. Tonight I was throwing a diaper in the outside trash can while she watched from the doorway. Right before I shut the outside door a moth snuck into the garage. I ran in the house and told her to hurry and close the door before he flew into the house. What did she do? She ran into the kitchen yelling, "Fly! Spatula!"
Like Father, like daughter
I see more and more of Mark coming out in Blueberry. (Except for the tantrums and stubbornness- I am told that was all me at 1 1/2 also. Arg.) A humorous example? Well, Blue has a book of colors with a baby on each page. I had to scan it in so you could get the full effect:

Anyway, every time she sees this baby she insists that it is pooping. The other day she kept saying "baby poopoo" over and over, louder and louder until I had to have a whole conversation with her about it! "Diaper", "wipies", and "Daddy" were her contribution. I am not sure how Daddy fits into it, but she always brings him into poop conversations. If you know Mark, you know she comes by this honestly- he loves some bathroom humor!
Now, why did she have to inherit his weakness to not be able to sleep in? 5:30am has never been my ideal time to start the day. Apparently it works great for her.

Yum!
Someone asked me before if Blueberry actually likes eating blueberries... they must have not known what a finicky eater she really is. I think most of her hangup is texture considering she gagged out foods of a different texture until she was about 12 months old. Anyway, to answer the question- Yes! She eats blueberries! (She just doesn't know it) Oh, the things mothers do for their kids...
